Why see Danny Bhoy?

now is not a good time tour

Scottish comic Danny Bhoy returns to Canada this fall with his brand new tour, Now Is Not A Good Time. Using his trademark observational wit this new tour sees Danny take a scathing look at some of the world's biggest news stories. A night that is sure to leave you laughing all the way home, don't miss Danny Bhoy on tour!

First selling out his debut Edinburgh Fringe show for three weeks straight in 2001, Danny has gone onto conquer the North American and Australian market with successful stints at the Melbourne and Sydney comedy festivals. Half-Indian and Scottish, much of his humor is based on growing up as a child of two cultures, as well as his outrageous use of segues.

Bhoy's appeal comes from his relaxed approach to comedy, by telling stories Danny draws the audience in without sucker-punching them at the end with an over-the-top punchline. That's not to say he can't do angry - for instance, his 2013 show was focused on the ineptitude of large corporations, and his struggles trying to get good customer service!

Great Performance - Sound Let Us Down

Great performances by both Danny Boyd and his opening act comedian. However, the sound was poor. We missed a lot of what was being said just because there was not enough volume. Sound was disappointing, the act was not. ... Read more

Danny Bhoy all grown up

If Now is Not a Good Time don't wait too long to see Danny Bhoy in his multigenerationally appealing show. Explaining transistor radios and booking holidays through brochures in the days before the Internet to teens in the audience left us oldsters rollicking with laughs. Sometimes rude and irreverent, Bhoy carries the show with poise. His one man sketches about life in the pandemic from penguins to mattress delivery refusals are true comedic theatre. We ate Alberta steak at nearby Earls on 16th, staff and food always yum! and walked to the Jube from there. Nice on a brisk fall night with full moon overhead. Though I would nae tak me Scottish granny to the show, teens and up all approved! We love ya Danny Bhoy. ... Read more
