Great show

Admitedly, I was hesitant to attend the show because I'd been a huge Ants fan and didn't want to be disappointed seeing him this late in life, the way I did after seeing Devo. But Ant did not disappoint and put on an energetic, 2-hour show. I liked the two drummers, although they largely played the same beats, unlike the original Ants. Regardless, it was a terrific show and he played a wide variety of the old material, even some 7" B-sides, which I really appreciated. The crowd was 3/4 women, which I thought was hilarious. I guess the man's still got it! My only criticism was the sound at the Phoenix, which sucked. The sound person should be fired. For the first half of the show, you could barely hear the vocals over the drums. For the entire the show, you had to wait a few bars before you could figure out what song they were playing because the guitars were pretty much non-existent in the mix. Despite this, the band put on a very worthwhile show. Glad I went. ... Read more

Adam STILL delivers!

Saw Adam last night at the Greek Theater in L.A. the venue itself is fantastic, great seats, great sound, great lighting. The staff were ALL very courteous, helpful & professional. Adam delivered hit after hit with enthusiasm & an amazing level of energy for a 60- something-year old man who's had knee problems over the years. He's a lean, mean, sex machine...still! I saw him back in 1984 when I was 16 & truthfully, Adam seemed every bit the performer he's ever been. I. Couldn't say that about 5 or 6 years ago when I saw him in San Francisco. He had a belly on him & his stamina just wasn't there. It was kind of sad but he's really turned himself around. I absolutely loved the "Kings of the Wild Frontier" tour he did earlier this year...he came back in all his glory & slayed the audience by playing that unforgettable album from start to finish...& some extras to keep us on our feet. Last night was no different...we were dancing to all the "Anthems" all night long. Simply stellar! ... Read more
