Why see National Ballet Of Canada - The Nutcracker?

A Wonderfully Festive Holiday Production

The National Ballet Of Canada's production of The Nutcracker is one of the country's favorites - a traditional version of the beloved Holiday classic, with all the trimmings of beautiful costumes and sets, talented dancers and a live orchestra. With choreography by renowned Canadian choreographer James Kudelka, the production is filled to the brim with whimsy, fantasy, charm and humour.

First performed in 1995, this Nutcracker incarnation has been enchanting audiences with its opulence and splendour ever since. Altering the plot slightly, Kudelka presents a coming-of-age story by focusing on Misha and Marie, two siblings that don't often see eye to eye. The story follows their journey into understanding and adolescence. The perfect way to introduce young children to the magical world of ballet theatre, why not get into the holiday spirit and make it a family outing?

As a former resident of Toronto their kindness and generosity reminded me that Toronto residents will help out when they can. Thank you again for my seat 20 in row J. ... Read more
