N - The Queen Of Paris
"Nana was still smiling, but with the deadly smile of a man-eater."
Nana - Emile Zola
Why see N - The Queen Of Paris?
A love story speaks to everybody...
From Nana, Emile Cola's iconic novel of decadence, desire and destitution, Montreal's Monlove Enterprises have created N - The Queen of Paris, a new musical that promises to capture the heart of seduction and romance that dictates the life of this alluring temptress.
Premiering at the Elgin Theatre, before starting a Broadway engagement in 2016, N- is a fresh and naturalistic adaptation of Nana's rags-to-riches tale winding the alluring atmosphere of champagne soaked Parisian theatre of the 19th Century into a contemporary tale. With music inspired by music halls and modern flavours, this story of love and destruction is clearly a hot ticket for new audiences.
Everybody wants to be part of a love story
Nana is the titualur Queen of Paris, who, when we meet her, is a down on luck prostitute, at the mercy of the streets. A beautiful and sensual girl, she is snapped up by the theatre as a courtesan, and although she is awful, there is something so enthralling, offering desire and delirium, but ultimately destruction to anyone who dares to fall for her...
