Created by Britta Johnson, Life After tells the story of a young, 16-year-old girl, Alice, who searches for some hard answers it light of her father's recent death. Lauded by BroadwayWorld, the Chicago Tribune and many others for its total originality, the musical returns to Toronto having premiered here in 2017, In a production directed by Annie Tippet and produced by Yonge Street Theatricals.
16-year-old Alice's father, Frank Carter, is a noted self-help guru. Despite his career imparting uplifting words of wisdom, it offers no reprieve from Alice's grief after he suddenly loses his life in a road accident on her birthday. What follows is a profound and moving yet also deeply funny exploration of the time around the time of Frank's death, via Alice's dynamic imagination and determination to discover the truth.
