Bat Out of Hell The Musical

Why see Bat Out of Hell The Musical?

...GLOWING LIKE THE METAL ON THE EDGE OF A KNIFE

Prepare yourselves for the returns of this epic rock opera, returning to Toronto this fall! A high-energy adaptation of Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf's amazing trilogy of records of the same name, it has already enjoyed two successful runs on London's West End and is gearing up for a North American tour during the 2018/19 season.

Steinman's iconic bops have been dusted off by the man himself, forming an anthemic and euphoric score to a brand new tale of lovestruck young rockers living in a dystopian nightmare, wheeling ever closer to an explosive rebellion. With 17 classic bops, including 'Paradise by the Dashboard Light', 'Heaven Can Wait' and more, you won't have to wait too long dust off your leather jackets and rockabilly denim and prepare to rock, hard!

The first part of Bat Out of Hell was released in 1977, with the second and third following in 1993 and 2006 respectively. Inspired by musicians as diverse as Wagner and Bruce Springsteen, it was a hit immediately on both sides of the Atlantic. Always intended to be a large scale work, this long overdue staging has both fans of theatre and rock and roll ready to do anything for tickets.

HE'D DO ANYTHING FOR LOVE...

Following the fortunes of Strat, a young man stuck in a post-apocalyptic city and his passionate romance with the beautiful daughter of Falco, the mad dictator in charge. Weaving together songs from both Bat Out of Hell I, II and III, this is a must see for fans of Stienman's highly charged songwriting that overflows with drama and theatrics.

Insane operatic epic

A high-octane thrill ride, this epic stage adaptation of the already fairly epic album(s) is utterly irresistible.

10 out of 10 ! Absolutely Perfect!!

Not just for fans of Meatloaf, this dark and yet surprisingly comedic musical will hold your attention from start till finish. While the story being told was a bit awkward at times, the stellar performances by the entire cast more than made up for it. The only negative is that this being my first musical, I am now probably hooked, lol..so just go see this ; you wont be disappointed. ... Read more

Pure energy from start to finish

Out of five starts, this show deserves at least a seven. Everything about it is fantastic. The music, of course - Jim Steinman is a legend of a songwriter. The singing - every single member of the cast is better than Meat Loaf. Especially look out for Danielle Steers as the minor character Zahara. When she sings "Baby we can talk all night", everyone in the audience's jaw drops to the floor. Objects In The Rear View Mirror made me tear up despite my life being relatively happy and not personally being able to relate to the words. Bat Out Of Hell the song is incredible, and the special effects help it along. And Paradise By the Dashboard Light is hilarious. There is a lot that's hilarious in this show, and it knows it! It revels in its ridiculousness and excess. The set, I want to mention, is really amazing, and contains little secrets that stun you because you didn't know they were there. Only criticism - the tickets and merch are a bit expensive. Oh! I want to go again. And again! ... Read more

JUST AMAZING!

Speaking from someone who was never around during the time when Meatloaf had released his 'Bat Out of Hell' album, thanks to my dad, I have grown to love it today. I loved it so much so that when we heard that Bat Out of Hell was being made into a musical and it was coming to Toronto, we just knew we had to go. It did not disappoint! From the very first song to the last, you couldn't help but tap your feet! All the actors were exceptional, and had such strong and fantastic voices, perfect for the kind of songs Meatloaf would sing. The setting of the stage, really gives you a creative visual of a dystopian future, and the story itself will take you on an adventure you will never forget. On top of that, it was nice to see people who were big fans of Meatloaf and Jim Steinman back in the day, with big smiles on their faces, as they saw one of their favourite albums being brought to life. I would highly recommend it to anyone who was debating on seeing it. You will not be sorry. ... Read more
