Why see & Juliet?

Baby One More Time

& Juliet returns to Toronto in 2025 following rapturous runs on Broadway and London's West End! This vibrant new musical features songs by producer-extraordinaire Max Martin, including Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys and The Weeknd. It's a fast-paced, electric reinterpretation of the classic Shakespearean tale - for a modern audience. This new brand new tuner is a sure-fire hit and will star some of Canada's brightest acting talent!

What is the story?

& Juliet rips up the rule book as we discover what happened if the sorry end of Romeo and Juliet never actually happened. With Romeo dead, our heroine Juliet heads to France to heal her broken heart. With her besties at her side and a whole host of musical bangers to boot, Juliet rediscovers life after love.

With a book by Schitt's Creek writer David West Read, & Juliet features direction by Luke Sheppard (In The Heights) and choreography by Jennifer Weber.

Bold, Cheesy, Brash

If you think that there couldn't possibly be room for another jukebox musical in London then you'd be very wrong as & Juliet storms into the Shaftesbury Theatre with the music of Max Martin in its clutches.

Post-pandemic bliss

Is this show cheesy? Yes! Is this show another take on “what if”? Yes! Is this show yet another “jukebox musical”? Yes! Sure, if you want to be critical. What this show is at every level, is talent - talent - talent! It’s a show that found me smiling from start to finish. It’s a show that heard me repeatedly laugh out loud! It’s a show that exemplifies the strength of finding your own voice and place in the world and embraces choices. After two years of pandemic I felt joy and laughter and a sense of community. I loved this show probably like none other. The actors/dancers/singers/musicians are absolutely amazing! Go see it - have fun - laugh and mostly, feel joy! ... Read more

A Jewel of. Play!

This is fabulous entertainment! The voices were so strong and emotionally effective. Ann Hathaway and Juliet had perfect Broadway style voices that soared throughout the theatre. It was fast paced, witty, very amusing and inclusive of race and gender. The costumes were adorable; the choreography superb! Perfect for all ages. ... Read more
