Chicago & REO Speedwagon

Chicago & REO Speedwagon at Budweiser Stage

Why see Chicago & REO Speedwagon?

What's better than one classic rock band from Illinois? Why, two classic rock bands from Illinois of course. REO Speedwagon and Chicago have joined forces for a co-headlining tour which will run for the month of August. Both bands careers have spanned the decades, selling countless millions of records between them. Chicago's commercial peak came with 1976's Number 1 single If You Leave Me Now, while REO are maybe most well known for their power-ballad Can't Fight this Feeling Anymore, which has been covered by everyone from Russell Brand (in the movie Rock of Ages) to Glee.

The two groups will be performing their own mini-sets before joining together for the encore. The only problem will be choosing which tracks to pluck from their two mammoth catalogues.

REO Speedwagon and Chicago in Toronto 2018

REO played a good solid set. I will admit that I am not a big fan. Chicago needs to be commended for going out on a limb and playing through all of Chicago I. That took courage. I was impressed with the musicality of the entire group. They, even with the replacements, continue to be polished musicians. Loved to hear this album played in entirety. My only regret, as always is that Terry Kath is missing. While the replacement musicians were fantastic they just aren't Terry. RIP. When is Peter returning? One of the best, of many Chicago concerts, I've attended. ... Read more

Chicago II is a great album

Chicago advertised that they would be playing their second album in it's entirety, and in my opinion did a great job performing it!!! Sadly many people enjoy only "hits". ... Read more

REO and Chicago

Overall, a great concert. Not a huge REO fan but they were very good. I am a huge Chicago fan, have been for most of their 50+ years. If you really are a true Chicago fan, you would have enjoyed the music from the second album. True, not all of them were popular hits. However, they are still great songs and great music. The music and lyrics are moving, even in today's environment, which speaks loudly for the band and their music. My only complaint was with the sound system at the Allstate Arena. It was not good, which took away from the performances of both groups. ... Read more
